One of the Best Devotionals This is a 52-week devotional that dwells on the topic of intentionally choosing joy, something that is elusive for many of us even as we walk in our faith. It is written in a weekly format that includes a daily message for Monday through Thursday and one that combines Friday, Saturday, and Sunday for a weekend devotional. Each day includes scripture for meditation and a prompt for journaling or further study.I liked how Thomas keeps the focus on the main reason Christians should choose joy: to glorify God. She writes, “We must choose joy in our everyday lives because a joy-filled life brings glory to God. God shines brighly through the soul that is wholly devoted to Him. Satisfied in Im. Trusting in Him. Delighting in Him….The pursuit of joy and the glory of God are not in conflict. In fact, just the opposite is true. To pursue joy with your whole life is to honor the One who has given you life.”Weekly chapter topics include Joy Always, Joy Given by God, Joy Defined, Joy in Doing Right, Joy is Not Found in Things, Joy Comes From Understanding God’s Word, Joy Instead of Bitterness, Joy When You Are Ridiculed, Joy In the Mundane, and Joy in Obedience, to name just a few.I’ve been blessed by the chapters I’ve read so far and have begun to grasp that the joy God gives has nothing to do with my circumstances or other people, or even with happiness itself. I look forward to making joy an intentional part of my faith walk as I continue to read this book in the coming year.I received a copy of this book for review from the publisher but the opinion of it is my own and was not solicited, nor was a positive review required.

Great book Love reading about JOY everyday. Love Angela Thomas. She is so uplifting and encouraging. We have heard her speak in person and done a couple of her video/Bible studies. Loved it all.
