Chinese Paper Lanterns, in China, they call them Kongming Lantern. It is said they were invented by a hero whose name was Kongming.

Always keep water or fire extinguishers nearby.
Children must not be left unattended with the lanterns.
Make sure that you familiarize yourself fully with the instructions provided.
Ensure that the wind is not stronger than 5 mph.
Ensure that trees are not in the flight path.
Must be released more than 5 miles away from any airports.
Do not use around dry crops.
Wear sensible clothing that is does not dangle around your hands or flap around any flame
Note:
1) Check the direction of the wind prior to launch to verify flight path ensuring there are no obstacles. Ensure the lantern is fully opened, not creased or at an angle.
2) Please contact your local Coastguard station if you intend to use Sky Lanterns near the coast, as they can get confused with distress flares.
3) No warranty for lantern as specail items.
4) There exists some color shading.

Awesome New Year’s Eve! I purchased these lanterns to cap off my New year’s Eve party this year. I had a small group of guests and we had a wonderful time lighting them and sending them off. 7 drunks were able to successfully launch 20 lanterns in the dark without catching my house on fire, so I count that as a win! I have purchased another type in the past that were inferior and more difficult to light. Be sure to read the directions and bend and separate the black wax sheets from each other. This will make it much easier to light. We also used candles in glass jars to have a constant, wind-resistant flame. Using an exposed flame is more difficult even if there is a slight breeze.My guests raved about these and I will certainly purchase them again!
Neat but Poor Instructions This was a great product except the instructions were translated from a different language and very difficult to understand. So, several lanterns did not work properly. You have to make sure that you put the wire through the block and twist it very securely. If you do not, it will fall off after you light it and then that lantern is wasted. For the ones that worked, they were lovely and everyone really enjoyed them!!
