Art therapy, laughter yoga and mindfulness: for a group intervention project aimed at self-expression and self-knowledge, and promoting well-being
This theoretical research aims to explore how art therapy can be combined with the practice of laughing yoga in an intervention aimed at promoting well-being, and to initiate expression and self-awareness, in a mindfulness approach. Based on analysis and synthesis of existing literature from the fields of art therapy, laughter yoga and conscience, we are building the theoretical foundations for a future intervention program targeting a variety of clients. No studies to combine these approaches have been done until now. This research is therefore limited to the first step of the research model developed by Fraser and Galinsky (2010). It is part of an aim preventive in terms of mental and physical health, well-being and self-awareness. He is proposed that the combination of laughter yoga and art therapy can offer an approach more accessible to the general population and make it possible to initiate a self-knowledge, lived in pleasure. It is also proposed that laughter yoga should promote a particular state of consciousness that is conducive to self-exploration, and that art therapy offers rich means of expression that encourage this exploration.
