This is a rare November 18th, 1946 playbill from the Original Broadway production of the NOEL COWARD comedy “PRESENT LAUGHTER” which played the Plymouth Theatre in New York City. (The production opened October 29th, 1946 at the Plymouth Theatre and ran for 158 performances.) ….. The play starred CLIFTON WEBB (shown in the cover photo) and featured EVELYN VARDEN, DORIS DALTON, MARTA LINDEN, JAN STERLING, CRIS ALEXANDER, GRACE MILLS, AIDAN TURNER, GORDON MILLS, ROBIN CRAVEN and LEONORE HARRIS ….. CREDITS: Book by NOEL COWARD; Sets designed by DONALD OENSLAGER; Costumes designed by CASTILLO and SYLVIA SAAL; Produced and Directed by JOHN C. WILSON ….. DETAILS: The 58 page playbill measures 6 1/2″ X 9″ inches and includes full production credits, cast list, synopsis of scenes, bios of each of the leading actors and wonderful vintage advertising but with the exception of the front cover, no cast photos ….. CONDITION: With the exception of light rubbing on the outside edge of the cover, this playbill is in excellent condition and will make a wonderful addition to the collection of any theatre aficionado or historian. This item will be carefully packaged in a protective, carded sleeve and backed by stiff cardboard.
