My main aim is to have an understanding of light and Spirituality; I am searching for a constant glow or elusive flow in each of my paintings. The disposition of my paintings should be gentle, but powerful. God is such a big part of who I am that I cannot but help to express Him and His light in my paintings. I like to display a person, scene, or object with some kind of spiritual undertones, without spelling it out with words or religious symbols. There is a lightness in my paintings that is created through my technique of blending the paint thoroughly on the canvas. I want the viewer to have as much joy looking at my pieces, as I do making them. Recently, What im experimenting with is letting the paint be paint, let it speak for itself. Let the pigments and light represent what they are. Concepts I play with are the structure and flow of water, and nature expressed conceptually and also my abstract view of heaven and various landscapes. This is seen through my use of color, thick paint, and visible stroked on the canvas.. Numerious shapes or a single structure set apart and examined closely; patches of light, pieces of darkenss, a glowing quality that filters throughout a canvas, these are some other ideas I incorporate in my artwork. It’s an expression of what is inside of me..light and joy. My paintings continue to develop as I do artistically and spiritually. My brushwork seems to be random, but if it’s done correctly the end result is inspirational! My interpretation of what joy looks like, illustrated abstractly.
