A real gem! What a gem of a book! Lynda Wallace has performed a seeming miracle here, taking something as complex as happiness and making it accessible to each of us in our daily lives. Her writing is crystal clear, elegantly combining scientific data with heartfelt wisdom and compassion. As a wellness coach and massage therapist, I’m thrilled to have this excellent resource to recommend to all my clients. It’s delightful to read, easy to digest, and organized so well that I can imagine using it as a sort of `desk reference for happiness,’ consulting it whenever difficulties arise in daily life. It would also make a great gift. Thank you Lynda!

A fast track way to a happier you I like to think of myself as a generally happy person. From the stylised autumn foliage on the cover page through to the contents page bursting with positive possibilities I was drawn in by Lynda’s step by step simplification of our modern day human condition and all of its accompanying stresses and fears and by the time I got to page 6 and the Calvin and Hobbes illustration I knew this wasn’t going to be just any old self-help book. A wonderful mix of simple illustrations, inspiring quotes and a strong message that happiness is found in the processes makes this a must have book for anyone who wants to live a happier more positive life. Reading each chapter left me with an “I can do that!” feeling…forget psychobabble, Lynda deals with the here and now with regular people speak and one could be forgiven for forgetting that she is indeed a qualified practitioner because she sounds more like a good friend sharing a top notch secret, only it isn’t secret any more, it’s in the book outlined in simple, easy, approachable steps for us all to take and do with what we will. Each stage of the book starts with some examples then an explanation and finally a way for the reader to transform their lives by actively following a few simple new ways of thinking and acting. Nothing hard, no giving up carbs or exercising till you faint, although good nutrition and a bit of exercise are definitely featured in the book as part of the holistic journey to happiness, just a nice steady stream of enlightening progressive stages that will lead you through to finding yourself in the small simple moments and delighting yourself in the process. Do yourselves a favour and buy this wonderful book. It might not save your life but it will give you back the joy in your life and what price that?
