Tyler Washington was never fond of his birthday. It seemed that the day only brought up sad memories and bad realities. His thirty-fifth birthday was going to be no exception. Tyler woke the day of his birthday faced with a dilemma. Stay on the track he was going, or try something new. Always the planner, Tyler hesitantly decided to follow the calculated plans, which included a marriage he certainly was still unsure of. That of course was until he met Willow. Then suddenly his birthday and the path less traveled didn’t seem so scary.
Willow McBride prided herself on being unconventional. She lived for the beauty and the thrill of a free uninhibited life. However, her bohemian spirit was starting to play havoc with her love life. After dumping another talented but self-absorbed artist, Willow went looking for a new love. However, she wasn’t expecting to find Tyler. Not only was Tyler older, but the straight-laced businessman was the complete opposite of the men she normally dated. Yet Willow couldn’t deny the attraction. Maybe Tyler was just what she needed.
Love never comes without challenges. As Tyler explores a fresh new love and life with Willow, he finds himself faced with some challenges from his past. One of those challenges being a not so happy ex who can’t let go, and the other being the limitations he can’t seem to let go of. Will Tyler be able to open himself to a new and exciting love with Willow, or will old hang-ups and past relationships stand in his way.

Nice love story This was an IR romance between an older man and a much younger woman. The book did not focus on race but the age difference came up a few times. I like how the father of the heroine voiced his concerns. Exactly what is this 24 year old girl doing for this 35 year old man that he would move her in less than 6 months of dating? Ummmm…Sugar daddy. But really their romance was not like that at all. Willow showed Tyler how to live in the moment and that not everything had to be planned. If your ever want to make God laugh, tell Him what you have planned…so so true. All in all it was a pretty interesting story with interesting support characters however I did not like the jump in time. Also the author failed to tie up one loose end with Hope and Ryan. I would recommend purchasing this book but don’t expect to be Wowed .
What a life changing birthday I truly enjoyed the relationship that develop between Tyler and Willow. I appreciation reading IR were race isn’t made a big issue. The plot was will developed and the dialogue was easy to follow. I would recommend you give this book a chance. Ms. Jackson is on her way to be a great author in her own rights.
Excellent Read – Could not put it down This was an excellent book – could not put it down. The characters were engaging and you wanted to know how it would turn out. I’ve read other books by this author – I’ve never been disappointed. Wonderful read!!!!!!!
