Excellent reviews for story and message:

— “Wonderful imagery and a great message” –
A little girl dares to face her fears. Mustering her courage, she takes a good look at the monsters lurking in her room, finds their weak spot and defeats them – in a really funny way…
‘Cause the thing with things
that hide in dark places,
is to dare to look at them,
and shine a light in their faces!
At first glance – they’re scary,
At second – kinda funny,
At third glance – You win!
And the next thing you know,
they’re out in a hurry,
and you’re free to go!
The rhymes and funny illustrations in this little story are right up the alley of Dr. Seuss lovers, inspiring kids to face their fears and doubts instead of feeling powerless to resolve them.
How would you like to overcome fears and doubts in a fun way?
Despite our aspirations as parents to provide a happy childhood for our kids, children have it tough sometimes. They experience fears and difficulties that take a toll on their happiness. Our job as parents is to help them learn the necessary skills to overcome their fears and difficulties successfully
Kids sometimes choose to avoid situations that trigger fears or difficulties because they feel powerless to change them. Few examples:
- Fear of scary creatures – “There’s a monster under the bed!”
- Frustration triggered by failing – “Doesn’t matter how much I try – I just can’t do it!”
- Despair due to low self esteem – “I’m a loser, I’ll never be a good player”
We are not powerless; we do not have to live with these emotions and fears. We can choose to beat these “monsters”, using one of the most effective tools available – humor.
My efforts to find a way to help my kids to overcome these issues resulted in a process that uses humor and art to empower and inspire children to resolve their issues successfully.
The effectiveness of the process inspired me to write this book, encapsulating its principles in rhymes and images, in hope that other kids may benefit from it.
I hope you will enjoy this funny little story, which is all about daring to face a monster – with a smile…
