Who doesn’t love a smiling baby? “Smile!”, by Roberta Grobel Intrater, is a delightful execution of a simple idea. This short book consists of close-up portraits of 12 babies of various ethnic groups. Along the bottom of the portraits run lines from a simple rhyme: “Look at the birdie / Come on, say cheese / Give me a smile / Will you, please?” etc.
A great picture book This is my little sister’s favorite book. I bought it for her before she turned two and it is still one of her favorites. She has me read it over and over again. The pictures of the babies are just adorable. I would highly recommend this book.
