Infinite variety of 8-Bit NES era games but how long will it work? First off the pictures on the back of the box is laughable and misleading. I can imagine some parent at a mall/flea market looking at the PS3/XBOX360 type graphics on the back of the box and getting really excited then going home after the purchase to find out what they are really getting.These are essentially Ninetendo NES 8-Bit games from the mid 80′s. For the most part, the games are emulated pretty well. Hell, even the controls(for the most part) feel spot on. There are a ton of games to choose from and a myriad variety of options. Where this unit falls utterly apart and lands straight on it’s rump is with the included “joypads”.The Xbox360 looking red joypad is cheaper than a $10 sunday suit. The plastic is extremely light and feels like it could break from a heavy sneeze. The “reset” button doesn’t even work(at least on my unit) so I need to turn the unit OFF and then ON again in order to exit the game(big headache).The “start” button needs to be pressed with the might of Goliath in order for it to register(and with how cheap this unit feels, it’s only a matter of time before the button poops-out). It’s stupid that the programmers did not allow for any other button to be used in place of the “start” button. So once that button dies out, there’s literally no way to start a game.This unit comes with an AC adaptor, a game-gun, two control-pads, and an A/V cable. The second controller plugs directly onto the first controller for two-player action. I really wanted to like this unit but overall the cheapness overwhelms it. What is especially unforgivable is the fact that the “start” button(the only way to actually enter a game) barely even works.
So much fun I read a lot of mixed reviews, but this is well worth the money for the endless hours of gaming. I am a retro gaming nerd and really loved this product. There is nothing like showing off some donkey kong skills. My specialty is donkey kong jr. Great seller and great product.
Easy fun for children My children and grandchildren really like it. It’s always a hit when we have company, but doesn’t take up space.
