really bad install / software / drivers On WIN 7 x64:I have tried it on 3 different computers:Sony VAIO NW240F – works OKToshiba Portege 935-p300 – works OKAsus N53JQ-XC1 – the mouse cursor disappears rendering the app (and calibration device) useless. There are no keyboard actions that would supplement non-functional mouse. Hey, guys, what about ENTER for DEFAULT BUTTON and ESCAPE for CANCEL. Ever seen this logic? In Win XP/SP3 32bit:Doesn’t even install correctly. The ‘xritedevice.dll’ is missing, so the app doesn’t even start. The USB calibration device does not install either, since there is no “i1display.sys” driver in the directory where the USB device is looking during installation.Even ‘hacking’ (i.e. supplying ‘xritedevice.dll’ and ‘i1display.sys’ manually) does not help. The app starts, but the USB device is still not recognized.I’ve been in SW business for over 30 years. If any of my SW engineers shipped SW like this one, he/she would not work for me the next day.Correction: If I ever wrote SW so bad I would fire myself on the spot.

William A. Fuller "The Old Bald Dude" says:

Easy and accurate Bought this to replace an old huey pro monitor calibrator. The huey worked well, but it used suction cups to hold it to the screen and they were lousy suction cups, so I had to moisten them to get them to stick which left marks on the monitor that I had to clean up. No such problems with the ColorMunki Smile. The huey also was willing to adjust the monitor for ambient light (bad idea for photographers), which I didn’t use. The ColorMunki Smile uses a lot more calibration points (haven’t counted, but it’s at least 3 times as many, maybe 4), but the results are pretty consistent with those obtained from the huey.Using this product is dead easy. You just start the software, hang the device over the monitor, press go and wait a few minutes. You get to click a before/after button if you want to when it’s done, but otherwise there is nothing for the end user to do. I’m pretty picky, but I can’t think of a single thing to complain about with this product. It just does its thing and does it well. Doesn’t have a lot of wizz bang features, but I bought it to calibrate my monitor and that’s what it does, and it does it with no fuss whatsoever. It doesn’t do anything else, but I don’t want it to do anything else. Excellent product.
