- THE ARTIST: Since introducing Willow Tree in 1999, Susan Lordi has conceived, sculpted and carved the original of each figure in her Kansas City art studio. By stripping down the essence of emotion to pure form, she opens the interpretation of each piece to the giver and the receiver.
