Chris Fabry says:

A true joy to behold This was a wonderful album–filled with surprises and delights. You will be overjoyed at the quality of music and the tender vibrancy of their music.

Ben says:

This will become a Christmas classic I’ve been a fan of Keith and Kristyn’s music for a while now and didn’t realize until attending one of their concerts last weekend that they were releasing a Christmas album this year. I snatched it up almost as soon as it came out and, though it’s a bit early for Christmas music, I will be getting a head start this year! The Getty’s take several holiday standards and blend them with some fabulous Irish tunes; the combination brings a whole new energy to these well-known Christmas classics. They also introduce several new songs (like the hauntingly beautiful “Magnificat”) to the Christmas repertoire.A spectacular release. This is one album you will definitely want to pick up early this Christmas season!

Jeanne says:

This is a wonderful album I’ll start by saying that I have only recently become acquainted with the music of Keith and Kristyn Getty. They gave a concert at my church last week (McLean Bible Church, Vienna, VA) and I had purchased this CD (along with two of their other CDs) before the concert.I have probably close to 100 Christmas CDs, collected over several years, and this CD is the one we have been playing almost exclusively this Christmas. Where to start? All of the songs are lovely, and the various reels that are included in some of them make them so beautifully Irish. I especially love “An Irish Christmas Blessing”, so perfect in its simplicity, yet with a message of comfort and hope in Christ. I love the hymn “Joy has Dawned”, and “Savior of Our Fallen Race” (dedicated to Carl “Chip” Stam, whose family tree includes the Christian martyrs John and Betty Stam) is based on a 6th century Latin carol. Then there is the sweet “Jesus, Joy of the Highest Heaven”, written for children, with a simple message of the gospel. And I cannot forget to mention the compelling “How Suddenly a Baby Cries” (with the Narnian reel). I especially love this song for its mention of Anna and Simeon, faithful servants who had longed and watched for the coming of their Redeemer for so many years, and whom God honored by allowing them to see the infant Savior before their days on earth came to an end. Can you imagine what it will be like to see these two saints in heaven one day and to hear their stories? This Christmas CD will undoubtedly remain one of my favorites for years to come. I am so thankful that the Gettys have dedicated themselves to writing hymns for our time. Each and every song here is memorable and speaks to the heart, and Jesus Christ is glorified through the lyrics and melodies.
