This is a fantastic writing instrument. It’s well balance, and with the the broad nib, produces a wonderful looking script. This pen really makes writing fun! The quality of it first rate as well. This model also comes with the refill adapter, which you will need because this pen does use ink rapidly. That’s actually a plus, in a way, since it allows you to switch colors. I personally really like Lamy’s green ink in this pen, although the turquoise is looks very cool as well.
I recently bought the all plastic version of this pen, also with the incredible 1.9 mm nib. My wife promptly confiscated that one, so I’m buying myself this one, with the aluminum cap, so we can tell them apart at a glance. Lamy makes a quality pen. I (we!) own a Lamy Safari pen, too. It also writes very smoothly, although it doesn’t produce the real “fountain pen look” of the Lamy Joy.The pen comes with a converter so you can use bottled ink as well as cartridge ink.
