In this day and age everything is the same. We're all doing the same monologues in front of the same casting directors. No matter how good of a job you do, these casting people are so pissed that they had to hear that Neil Simon monologue for the 35th time. That is why "WHITE KNIGHT BLACK NIGHT" is such a treasure. Catalano is new, fresh, and writes some damn good monologues. There is something is this book for everyone of all ages. From one actor to another, I strongly suggest this book. Well done Mr. Catalano.

This book helped me book a job! The monologues are unique, show emotional range and gave me voice that was completely my own. Next time your thinking about busting out another tired monologue from" Our Town" slap yourself and then buy a copy of this book !

Okay but just not me I bought the book thinking it would be full of diverse monologue choices. But in the end I found myself feeling like it was just comedic monologues for women. It just wasn't me, and as Mr.Catalano says in the book himself, it's best to do pieces to your strong suits. Do not misunderstand, it is in no way shape or form a bad book and there are good monologues in here. It is just not to my liking, and not what I was expecting when I purchased it.
