There is really a lot of great information and advice on how to be happy in this book. The author recommends 10 steps to gain happiness which include1. Gratitude2. Optimism3. Defeating faulty thinking4. Being nice to yourself5. Responsibility6. Forgiveness7. Looking for good8. Gratifying work9. Giving10. BalanceResponsibility, giving, gratifying work, and balance were my favorite chapters. It is important we spend our time doing useful things without making excuses. One big thing that was missing from the book was spirituality. This in itself could have been a whole chapter. I however suspect that this was intentionally left out. Another thing I didn't like was the concept that unhappiness is derived from fear. I know the author is not alone on that idea, but frankly,I disagree. Fear may lead to unhappiness, but I think it is minor. A simple example is that I am unhappy when my pet dies. Fear and unhappiness are two distinct and different emotions. The book did not harp on this a lot, so I ignored it. Also, there was some unnecessary swearing in the book.Overall, I found the ideas in the book very useful and I recommend it for someone struggling with unhappiness or depression.
