Climb Aboard the Rumbletrain These guys were all over college radio in the late 80's and early 90's, so I'm a bit surprised to find that their best album (in my opinion) is in the "Shame It's Out-of-Print" File. I've checked out their other releases, but none matched the energy and rumbling sound of this 1989 release. This was the Mighty Lemon Drops taking their Alarmish roots and infusing them with a loud, brassy, drum-heavy drive, the kind of songs that must have been a blast to hear live. I guess they just hit a groove in terms of writing catchy, charging riffs on this record, because they were never really this fun again. A great mood album to put on and pick yourself up.
