Fantastic Gizmo I received one of these for Father's Day this year (2010). I have used many types of corkscrews, including the Rabbit, and some that required a degree in engineering to figure out, but have never been happy with any of them. My default cork remover has actually been the dual-prong Ah-So device. I actually had an Ah-So for close to 40 years and it recently broke. The newer ones are not as sturdy and removing synthetics is a bit of a challenge, even with the better ones. When I think about it, the demise of my trustee 40-year Ah-So was probably the result of using it on synthetics.Anyway, The Wine Enthusiast Electric Blue Corkscrew is really a gem and makes opening any corked wine bottle a snap. It certainly will open at least 2 dozen bottles without recharging, and has an amazing amount of power. I was skeptical at first, but became so sold on it that I gave away three of these to family members as Christmas gifts.

Exceeds expectations After a month, this opener has worked flawlessly on any type of cork. It is quiet, quick, and simple. The blue LED light in the charging base is a nice addition to our kitchen counter. It looks well-made but only time will tell how many bottles it will open. So far, so good. Only very minor complaint is might have been nice to have a foil cutter than can be removed and stored a little more easily. I usually use one I keep in the drawer next to the thing instead.
