Educational Fodder for my Writing Arsenal As with , The Science of Happiness is filled with interesting insights. This journey through the "Positive Psychology" by Shawn Achor shows how our perception of the world shapes who we are: happy or unhappy. He goes on to state "it isn't reality that shapes up, it the lens through which we view the reality that shapes our experience of it." We have all been told that not only is anger unhealthy, but it actually does physical damage to our bodies and immune system. It would be safe to say the opposite would be true - a positive outlook is healthier. Therefore, our body and immune system responds positively (or negatively) to how we view, and react to, the world. So how do we obtain this positive outlook? It starts with something as simple as a Smile.I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book, and again, plan on adding more One Day lectures to my library. It is really the easiest, and most inexpensive form of attending college lectures.
